'Alphonse' the Dotty Bear...

This is Alphonse getting up on the stool and with great difficulty...

Now he is sulking cos the sun is shining in his eyes....

Sat upright, he is now relaxing and watching me tend to my little garden on the balcony!

The balcony has now been overtaken by the tomato plants so very little space to take photos as it is the only spot I get natural sunshine.

Many thanks for looking and your comments Lizzie & Alphonse!

Spec Case with an addition....

Just thought I'd make another spec case but with a twist!

Thought I would kill two birds with one stone and added a brooch in the same fabrics - so if you are looking for a little something to add to a plain blouse what more than taking it off the spec case and adding it to your chest!!

Many thanks for looking and your comments.

Sorry once again for not commenting on peops blogs but there's something incompatible on my computer and cannot find the reason why HOWEVER I do read them all and just get so frustrated at not being able to comment.

Girlie Bunting....

Sorry not been blogging but have ended up with a flu like cold, mind you it's no wonder when you get 4 seasons in one day.

Just posting this bunting I've made for an order, a little girl named Tilly - just hope she likes it!

When a bit better will definitely be visiting all your blogs, now getting back into bed with a hot water bottle!!

Spectacle Case... the inevitable!

Thought I would make a spec case due to fact that I do wear them, made myself a case a couple of years ago so thought I'd make another but to sort of look like an eye test letter board!

Weather's been bad today but did manage to get out for lunch, then to a garden centre for more soil for the little greenhouse as tomatoes now need repotting - will show you some other time!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

A pair of little Tweetie hairclips..

I've just put these on Folksy - http://www.folksy.com/shops/scrummyscrapz

I'm trying to stop buying fabric just for the sake of it, and buttons for that matter - convincing myself gotta use what you got!

First attempt at turning a bowl..

My first attempt at wood turning a bowl using spalted beech which unfortunately has a flaw - can repair it but am leaving it as a feature..

This is the inside of the bowl and once I've waxed and polished it you will see a different picture and the splated effect becomes very attractive within the beech...

This is the bottom of the bowl and shall also get rid of the little hole where the bowl was kept in place whilst turning...

Shall show you the bowl next week after my next lesson and you'll see such a difference!

My favourite coffee & muffin cafe..

Just gotta be the best in the North West... Bunting from old coffee bean bags!

Vintage grinding machinery and boy does it smell fab when they're grinding the beans - you feel that you're in Caffeine Heaven....

Loads and loads of sacks of coffee beans from all over the world....

Just check out the muffins, they are so huge and deliciously homemade that you can savour both and take your time! Incidently they serve a different mixture of coffee every week so it just never tastes the same - Roberts Cafe on Cedar Farm - a place to enjoy (inc. little animal farm which the kids love)

Cupcake, cupcake, oh little cupcake...

Just thought I'd make a couple of cupcake hair slides, did find them rather finicky but persistence won in the end!

Guess I'll put them on Folksy now!

Any comments are gracefully accepted - like innit!!

A Day of Tranquility & Peace...

Just look at those strange feet! So amusing to see on just a little duck... (For a better look at them click on the picture and enlarge)

There it goes with those feet actually following it's little one...

Peace and tranquility to say the least even though there were a lot of people there (oops sorry - Martin Mere Bird Sanctuary) it was just amazing how many different ducks there were....

and of course the Pink Flamingoes - not even they made a noise!

Well there are many more pictures but too many, and if you are ever up North, Lancashire way visit Martin Mere. There are also Beavers and Otters but alas they're nocturnal so didn't see any.

The Craft Fair...

Memory like a sieve...

Forgot my camera and a lot of other things, surprised didn't forget myself - as the old adage goes it's an age thing!!

However all went well, but due to The Grand National and a fine day unfortunately not a great number of peops came but I was happy!

I have just taken photos at home whilst sun is shining and added items left over onto shop

I hope everyone had a grand day today with the sunshine and did some fab things!

A little bit of recognition...

Jade's blog called Generally Eccentric http://lessacsmagique.blogspot.com/ of LesSacsMagique a small business run by herself and the web address is

Have a good weekend now that the sun is shining and enjoy!!

There's a first for everything...

Greenfingers I am not but just thought I'd give it a go and grow my own small veggies for salads, cos I love lettuce (any sort) must have been a rabbit in earlier life!!

Don't know if anything will grow but there's no harm in giving it a bash and if anything comes of the seeds that I think I so lovingly planted develop into something will take photos and show that you can be green on a small balcony 8 floors up!

Any comments will be welcome!

Never thought I'd do a Cupcake Keyring...

Another couple of keyrings to either add to Folksy or Craft Fair on 9th April - better get a move on cos just got too much to do and so little time to do it in!
Both keyrings are made from felt, ribbon, thread, brads and button.
Thank you for looking!

Little cushion cover to be sent far away...

My first ever attempt at quilting!
Had these 4 x 4 squares of Dora the Explorer so thought I would make something for the Christchurch Appeal and today she'll be on her way.
Thanks for looking!

Cotton Reel shaped Needle Book

Thought I would make a needle book with a difference, this is probably a one off.
I printed the pattern image and wording on Calico using Freezer Paper, floral fabric, sewing maching charm, vintage buttons, felt and wadding - oh yep and vilene.
Going to put this on folksy now and here's wishing you a great Sunday!
Thanks for looking!

Another Egg Cosy but with a difference...

Just thought I'd do a little cross stitching cos not done any for a while.
I used Belfast Linen 28 count, red thread, spotted RJR fabric front & inner, Kokka Jute Linen for the back, vilene and wadding.
Hope you enjoy and any comments are always welcome!

Easter Eggs. Everyday Eggs or Just Eggs!!!!

Well it's nearly Easter so thought I would tackle some egg cosies and this is the first one!
I've been rather busy lately, with work etc. so thought it time I sat down and relaxed!
The egg cosy is made with Kokka Jute Linen, various pieces of Moda Fabric, wadding and a little grossgrain ribbon.
Hope you like it!

Trying out some silhouette buttons...

I was a little tired of stitching and thought I'd do something different!
There were quite a few weeny stamps in my craft box so thought I would try and stamp them onto fabric with a fabric ink pad and chose black on white material.
I am still thinking as to whether they're OK and thought they could be used with a number of projects such as sewing, scrapbooking, cardmaking or gift tags.
Well that's me for today and hope you enjoy looking!

Colourful & Bright Butterfly Brooches

Two really colourful & bright felt butterfly brooches.
I thought I would use the brightest of materials so when someone is wearing them they can feel happy.
Thank you for looking and to buy you can find these on my Folksy shop!

Milestone - 80th Birthday Card for a keen fisherman!

A little bit unconventional for me cos I normally stamp images and paint with H2O's, but just thought I would try something different - so voila I stitched a sort of fishing collage as best I could incorporating it with the 80.
The sewing was not too difficult but think this is a one off because sticking it all down with an insert as well was some feat but got there in the end. Hopefully there will be some happy old man on Saturday!
Thanks for looking
and your comments are really appreciated!

TEA COSY.....

Thought I would make something different because I went to a quaint farm shop and spotted some tea cosies but thought 'wow - just look at the price' and then realized I could make one!
The fabric used is Jute linen and Awesome spots designed by Sandy Gervais and printed by Moda with a repeat using similar material for the flowers within the Awesome Range. I have used double wadding and Calico on the inside.
Thank you for looking!
